Through Old Dominion University, I worked in the Applied Linguistics program department on their ‘Informing Future Career Pathways in Applied Linguistics’ initiative.
Job Title and Duties
As a researcher, my responsibilities were to collect and analyze data from various sources to help viewers understand the current and ongoing opportunities available to those with skills in applied linguistics.
Tasks and Expectations
After collecting the data, my task was to ensure effective dissemination of the information to relevant stakeholders and current students in the Applied Linguistics program at ODU.

My colleagues included my supervisor, Dr. Staci Defibaugh; Elizabeth Zanoni from the Monarch Humanities Internship Studio; and MHIA ePortfolio Graduate Assistant Emily Hill.
Projects and Impact
My projects from this internship allow current students and stakeholders of Old Dominion University's Applied Linguistics program a quick and easily digestible way to view the current state of opportunities available in linguistics and related fields.
Process Review
The onboarding process was quick and easy to understand, and there were easily accessible communication channels with my colleagues and superiors always available.
